Our Physicians

Dr. Lauria joined Western New York Pediatrics in 1984.

 

He completed his undergraduate work at Georgetown Univeristy.  After graduation, he went on to study medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center.  He completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.

 

Dr. Lauria is Board Certified in Pediatrics.  He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Buffalo Pediatrics Society.

 

Dr. Lauria enjoys spending time with his wife and family.  He is active in the community and at his church.  One of his favorite hobbies is coaching Little League Baseball.

Dr. Cooley-Guth joined the practice in 1989.

 

She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, and her MD from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico.

 

She completed her fifth pathway at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.  Her internship and residency were completed at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

 

Dr. Cooley-Guth is a Board Certified Pediatrician and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She holds the title of Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo, with teaching at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and South Buffalo Mercy Hospital.

Dr. Schamann joined the group of pediatricians at Western New York Pediatric Associates in 1992.

 

She received her BA degree from Canisius College, after which she completed the Graduate Education Program at the State University of New York at Buffalo. 

 

Dr. Schamann was a high school teacher at St. Mary’s High School in Lancaster for 2 years.

 

She returned to the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences from where she received her MD, Magna Cum Laude.  Her internship and residency were completed at the State University of New York at Buffalo Consortium, Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

 

Dr. Schamann is a Board Certified Pediatrician, and member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

Dr. Schamann holds the title of Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo with teaching at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Mercy Hospital.  She serves on the Medical Education Committee of the Erie County Medical Society and on the board of the Madison McCarthy Cardiac Care Coalition for Children.

Dr. Mattimore joined our group as a Pediatrician in 1995.

 

She received her BS in nursing from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

 

Dr. Mattimore worked as a nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo for one year.  She subsequently moved to Boston and spent six years working as a nurse, with time spent at both Beth Israel and Boston Children’s Hospitals.

 

She attended the Post Baccalaureate Program at Harvard University extension in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  She went on to receive her MD Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.  Her residency was completed at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

 

Dr. Mattimore is a Board Certified Pediatrician.  She is a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She holds positions on the Community Blue Medical Management Board, the Medical Advisory Committee at Kaleida and the UB Alumni Associates Governing Board.

 

She resides in Hamburg with her husband and three children.

Dr. Szumigala joined Western New York Pediatrics in 1999.

 

She completed her undergraduate work at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in biology.  She earned her MD from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. 

 

Dr. Szumigala completed her internship and residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo Consortium, Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

 

She is a Board Certified Pediatrician and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She is a member of the Buffalo Pediatrics Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York and the UB Alumni Society.

 

Dr. Szumigala holds the title of Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and has affiliations with the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and South Buffalo Mercy Hospital.

 

She resides in West Seneca with her husband and daughter.

Dr. Jennifer Miller joined Western New York Pediatrics in November of 2007.

 

She completed her undergraduate work at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA degree in Physical Anthropology.  She remained in Buffalo where she went on to receive her MD Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

 

Dr. Miller completed her pediatric residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

 

She is affiliated with the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo and South Buffalo Mercy Hospitals. She is a Board Certified Pediatrician and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

Dr. Miller resides in West Seneca with her husband and son.
